We support a number of remote working scenarios, but the most secure which we recommend is remote desktop over VPN.

How does this work?

We supply and configure firewalls which support VPN by default. These can be configured to allow remote users, or remote networks, to connect to your network as if they were local to the network. All traffic over the internet is passed through a "secure tunnel" which cannot be broken into.

Once the VPN is established, the user can then, depending on the speed of the Internet connection, open documents or run applications as if they were on the network, or, more usually, open up a "remote desktop" session onto a speare machine at the pracitce.

Remote working

How does this compare to GoToMyPC, Logmein, Splashtop etc?

Whilst you can use these products, they do require not only an ongoing subscription, but involve connecting via a third party. Once setup, the VPN is entirely free, and it also involves no third party company in order to operate; all your traffic is going directly between the remote user and your network.
