Dental IT Limited was involved at a very early stage in the planning and implementation of the IT for this new build dental practice. Richard Hems is an endodontist, carrying out mostly referral work, and was moving from his previous practice to a dedicated and specialist referral centre. 

This busy, 4 surgery mixed NHS and private practice, had been using Dentsys Paragon for some time, but without the appointment book or clinical records. They recently decided to migrate their DPMS from Dentsys Paragon, to SoE EXact, and approached Dental IT Limited for their hardware and infrastructure requirements. 

Dental IT were involved at the planning stage of this installation, liaising with architects, builders, cabinetry suppliers, and the software company (Practiceworks), to ensure that the IT infrastructure was appropriate for this stunning new build practice. 

Dove Dental Care is a practice that has been computerised for many years, being an early adopter of Software of Excellence EXact. It is a large, 6 surgery practice, serving NHS and private patients in central Derby. In 2005, the new practice manager, Ru Boyle, approached Dental IT Limited to audit and assess their IT.

The practice intended to migrate from Practiceworks Arthur, to SoE EXact. Arthur had been used as reception software only, and the practice intended to go “fully clinical” with EXact software installed throughout. A smooth transition to full computerisation was vital, with visibility of the existing data until the SoE conversion.
